Queer Eye’s Tan France has welcomed his first child, a son named Ismail, with his husband Rob via surrogacy.
The 38-year-old British-American fashion designer announced the heartwarming news of his little one’s premature arrival on Instagram, revealing that he had been closely monitored in the hospital for almost a month.
Tan shared a family photo of the trio together with the newborn in his arms.
‘Give our son a warm welcome,’ he captioned the post. ‘Ismail France, born July 10th. He came 7 weeks early, so he’s been in the NICU for the past 3 weeks. But, today, we finally got to bring him home.’
He continued: ‘We love him so, so much. Like, fully obsessed. Our Surrogate is doing so great, post labor, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the greatest gift in our lives. 🥰’
A number of famous faces wasted no time in sharing the love, with Gigi Hadid simply writing: ‘DADDIESSSSSS.’
Tan’s Queer Eye co-star Bobby Berk penned: ‘So so happy for you love. He is simply perfect and your growing little family gives me so much happiness and joy. Love you all so much and can’t wait to meet little Ismail.’
Tan initially confirmed in April that he and his partner Rob were expecting a baby.
The Netflix star shared the happy news with fans in a playful pregnancy announcement post alongside an image of him posing shirtless with a snap of a sonogram.
‘So happy to finally share that WE’RE HAVING A BABY!! No, I’m not pregnant, despite this VERY realistic pic,’ he wrote at the time.
‘With the greatest gift/help of the most wonderful surrogate, Rob and I are lucky enough to be on our way to being parents, this Summer. Something we’ve wanted for SOooo many years.’
He continued: ‘Our hearts are so full right now. I cannot wait to hold this baby, and to show him so much love.’
Tan is a fashion designer by trade and lends his expertise to Queer Eye, starring on the Netflix makeover show alongside the other Fab Five members – Bobby, Antoni Porowski, Karamo Brown, and Jonathan Van Ness.
