Piers Morgan has banned ‘stupid and racist’ people from watching his breakfast show, Good Morning Britain.
The 55-year-old has been using his voice to support the Black Lives Matter protests, and recently threw his support behind the demonstrators who tore down the Edward Colston statue in Bristol.
And now he has taken a stance against viewers who don’t agree with the movement by banning them from watching his programme.
Taking inspiration from Yorkshire Tea, the controversial journalist explained how the company banned someone on Twitter from buying their product after they wrote: ‘I’m dead chuffed that Yorkshire Tea hasn’t supported BLM.’
‘Yesterday we had some troll popping up saying how happy they were how Yorkshire tea hadn’t endorsed Black Lives Matter,’ Piers explained to his co-host Susanna Reid.
‘So Yorkshire Tea banned that person, boom, gone, “please do not buy our tea again.”‘
He added: ‘They were joined by PG Tips in solidarity and PG Tips piled in and offered their support.’
Laughing at the situation, the father-of-four continued: ‘The thing about racists is they’re often so stupid, she will think she is banned. She’ll actually think she is banned that’s the thing about racists, they’re so thick.
‘I asked on Twitter can all stupid people please stop following me, and they did.
‘Some bloke yesterday giving me some, a racist yesterday, and I said, “you’re banned from ever watching this again, you, your family banned. That’s it.”
‘A lifetime ban for being racist or stupid, and we can’t have stupid people watching our programme, so if you are stupid or if you are racist don’t watch it.’
The presenter smirked: ‘Don’t watch it with the smart non-racist viewers, those are the ones we want watching.
‘I like the idea of this, they can’t do anything that they would otherwise enjoy like a tea or their breakfast show, apart from sitting in their festering little dungeon being racists.
‘Well you can do without your Good Morning Britain, your morning tea, your PG Tips.’
Good Morning Britain continues weekdays at 6am on ITV.
