A group of racist ‘yobs on E-scooters’ covered a newly renovated salon in swastikas and slurs while ‘using it as a drug den’, the owner suspects.
Holli Henderson, 37, spent £4,000 on revamping her salon in Brentwood, Essex, before the pandemic.
She is devastated over ‘horrendous’ graffiti and destruction that has left her with £6,000 worth of damage to clean up.
She walked into her salon just after 7.30pm on Monday night to find a giant swastika punched through the plaster of a wall.
Dozens more were scribbled all over the salon and sickening homophobic and racist ‘rules’ were listed – including ‘no f*****s’ or ‘no blacks’.
Although the police are still investigating who is responsible for the damage, ‘EDL’ is written on the walls too – the acronym for the far-right, racist English Defence League.
Witnesses say they spotted some teenagers, wearing balaclavas and hoodies, using E-scooters to get to the salon on Sunday night.
Holli found weighing scales in the salon and she believes the thugs were using the location as a ‘drug den’ during lockdowns – to take drugs and deal them.
It seems as if the group has managed to punch a doorway through the wall.
‘They’ve punched holes through everything, I can’t ever work in somewhere like that again,’ she said.
The mum-of-one has been deeply affected by what happened to her salon and she no longer wants to run her business there.
She said: ‘I’ve never actually seen anything like this in my life. I actually can’t face ever going back there.
‘I can’t go back there ever. The energy in there is just horrendous. The worst for me really was the anti-Semitic stuff. They carved a Nazi sign into the wall – I can’t ever unsee that.
‘I went to Auschwitz just before the pandemic and so it really just impacted me so much, how anyone could do that, it’s just so awful.
‘I think it’s racist kids being idiots and not knowing the implications of their actions.’
Holli already had a buyer ready to purchase the business, but now she is worried the person will be put off.
The entire gym complex that the salon is located within was wrecked – with police estimating damage and theft worth £100,000 and £200,000.
Essex Police confirmed they are investigating the burglary.
