Love Island 2021 star Danny Bibby has stayed in the villa after apologising for his past use of racist language, with the new bombshell having his eye on Lucinda Strafford.
Viewers were surprised to see Danny remain on the show after he was discovered to have used the N-word on Instagram in 2019.
He apologised for his use of the language, denying he is racist and making it clear he would be staying on the show.
In the latest episode, after taking Kaz Kamwi and Sharon Gaffka on dates, Danny was seen gravitating towards Lucinda, who was previously coupled up with Brad McClelland before he left the villa.
‘Do you fancy me?’ he asked Lucinda, admitting he’s got his eye on her.
Lucinda went on to say: ‘He came across like he did actually like me, which I am flattered by.’
Danny had previously invited Kaz and Sharon on dates, telling them he was looking for someone ‘independent’ and ‘ambitious’.
In the upcoming recoupling, he will go first to choose a girl to couple up with, followed by bombshell AJ Bunker.
In a now-deleted post from November 2019, Danny responded to a friend, who was white, who commented on a picture of him in Dubai.
The original comment read: ‘Champ’, with Danny replying: ‘My n***a.’
He has since issued a statement saying: ‘I’d like to take the time to apologise to anyone that may have taken offence to my inappropriate remark.
‘I never meant anything malicious by this comment at all. I am not a racist person and it’s unacceptable language and ignorant. I meant no offence and feel like I have really learnt from my mistakes and will never use that word again.
‘I am a kind loving person and hopefully you get to see that in the show.’
Love Island returns Sunday at 9pm on ITV2.
