Cardi B refuses to feel guilty about spending $88,000 (£65,000) on a designer bag after fans criticised her for considering during the luxury buy, prompting her to list her incredibly charitable donations towards coronavirus relief efforts.

The WAP rapper told her Twitter followers that she was thinking about treating herself to a luxury bag.

‘Should I spend 88K for this damn purse ? Omggg it’s tempting,’ she tweeted.

Some considered it to be insensitive to those going through financial difficulties at the moment including one who said: ‘it just speaks to your privilege that you could spend that much on a handbag. That’s more than most people make in a year.’

‘We don’t care,’ they stated.

One weighed in: ‘Donate the money to hungry people. Tweets like this are why we want to eat the rich.’

‘I’ll never understand something like this personally. I’d never get satisfaction out of spending 88K on a purse. Ever. I would rather do literally anything else with the money. Use it towards something that would benefit family. Give it to those who need it. Charity. And so on,’ another argued.

Responding to one fan who criticised her lavish spend, Cardi shared a screenshot of an article about her $1 million (£740,000) donation to a Covid-19 charity in April.

She then tweeted: ‘Also I donated a million dollars to fans thru cashapp 2 months ago.

‘Also I got 7 uncles an 3 aunts on my daddy side,9 aunts and 3 uncles on my momma side a whole bunch of cousins I had to help cause of the pandemic ….If I want to splurge I can with out yall asking for hand outs like me and my husband don’t do so.Thank you.’

Cardi added: ‘I already donated 2 million dollars this year and I’m doing something very special in a another country that will be done with next year. What have you donated ?’

The rapper also noted that she donated 20,000 meal supplements to medical staff in New York months before.

The Grammy-winning musician is known for her love of Birkin bags and her husband Offset was criticised for buying an $8,000 (£6,000) mini version for their daughter Kulture on her second birthday.

Defending the expensive gift, Cardi said: ‘Celebrities buy their kids jewelry and designer s**t, people be like, “Kids don’t care about that. They only care about toys and candy.

‘Yeah, they only care about toys and candy but the thing is the kids also go outside. You know what I’m saying? Kids go to restaurants, kids go to fancy places, celebrity kids, they go do red carpets.’
