Hollyoaks is taking viewers back in time once more next week, as it returns to 2005 with a very special instalment, as Jack Osborne (Jimmy McKenna) and Becca Dean (Ali Bastian) tie the knot to their respective partners.
Over the past couple of months, viewers have been enjoying some of the Channel 4 soap’s finest outings from years gone by.
Two special series — Hollyoaks Favourites and Hollyoaks@25 — kept us entertained with classic episodes during the Covid-19 pandemic, which saw production halt on current instalments.
With newer episodes being rationed out at three a week — before being further cut to two — the soap eventually went off our screens.
Classic episodes were transmitted in its absence, until new outings returned on September 7 — with the soap back on our screens four times a week from Monday to Thursday.
As one can never have too much Hollyoaks, the Friday slot has been occupied with classic episodes once more, and next week’s takes us back to 2005.
Jack prepares to marry Frankie Dean (Helen Pearson), while Becca and Jake (Kevin Sacre) get ready to tie the knot.
However, Becca is having doubts, especially when student Justin Burton (Chris Fountain) tells her that he is in love with her!
Meanwhile, Lisa Hunter’s (Gemma Atkinson) mum fears she’ll self-harm again when she has boyfriend trouble, and Steph (Carley Stenson) and Debbie Dean (Jodi Albert) get loose lipped after some pre-wedding fizz.
This episode — the soap’s 1589th — was initially broadcast on August 25, 2005.
One to watch: Friday December 4 at 7pm on E4.
