James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) has been determined to win back John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) in Hollyoaks, but will he succeed as the latter feels rejected by new beau PC George Kiss (Callum Kerr)?
Upon his return to the village earlier this year, John Paul enjoyed something of a romance with James.
However, the discovery that James had left Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) for dead naturally put an end to their passion, and John Paul subsequently embarked on a new relationship with dashing policeman George.
James has been incredibly jealous of the developing connection between the two men, and has done everything he can to convince John Paul that he is the man for him.
However, John Paul wants nothing to do with James, but could that all be set to change?
With the soap having been forced to take a break amid the Covid-19 pandemic, viewers have been wondering what lies ahead regarding this storyline.
Next week — hot off the soap’s return to screens on September 7 — we find out, as James listens to John Paul and George as they have a conversation.
The solicitor smirks, and proceeds to mock the duo — claiming that they’ve got nothing in common.
Later, John Paul is left feeling rejected by George.
The question is: will James swoop in to comfort his ex?
If so, will he succeed?
Could James’ actions spell trouble for #McKiss?
One to watch: Thursday September 10 at 7pm on E4.
