Eat Out to Help Out is a scheme which was introduced for August that has allowed Brits to enjoy 50% off food and non-alcoholic drinks, up to a maximum of £10 per person, every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

The scheme was introduced to help stimulate the economy and get Brits back in restaurants following months of coronavirus lockdown.

With today being the last day of August – and don’t worry, the scheme is still valid on bank holiday – is the scheme coming to an end?

When does Eat Out To Help Out finish?

Eat Out to Help Out is due to end on Monday, August 31.

The scheme officially launched on August 3 and has been hugely popular, with plenty of big companies like McDonald’s, Costa and Nando’s taking part.

Is Eat Out to Help Out being extended?

There are no plans as of yet to extend the scheme across the country, although some restaurants and chains have decided to extend their own offerings of discounts and offers.

These include Toby Carvery, Harvester and Homeslice.

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has urged ministers to extend Eat Out to Help Out into September.

FSB chairman, Mike Cherry, said: ‘We now need to see it extended to continue the critical support that it is providing for small firms as we enter a period of economic make or break.

‘As we enter September with schools reopening and more people going back to their places of work, there are still strong merits to continuing this for one more month.’
