Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is clearly excited to play with Ajax star Donny van de Beek at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils agreed a £40.3million deal for the Dutchman on Sunday night and he’s set to have a medical in the north-west this week before signing a five-year deal at the club.
The 23-year-old will become United’s first signing of the summer and he’ll proved some much needed competition in the middle of the park, where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer felt he needed greater back-up for Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes.
Fernandes has already approved the club’s deal on Instagram but Rashford is clearly in the same boat and can’t wait to link up with the Ajax star.
Rashford liked a series of tweets from journalist Fabrizio Romano, where the Italian relaid information that van de Beek was on his way to Old Trafford.
The England star ‘liked’ three tweets, suggesting he’s excited to link up with the talented Dutchman when he arrives at Old Trafford.
Solskjaer will be hoping van de Beek’s arrival can spark United’s summer into life.
The Dutchman will become the club’s first signing of the window but the Norwegian hopes to make at least two more with Jadon Sancho at the top of his priority list.
The 20-year-old remains keen on a move to Old Trafford but United are reluctant to meet Dortmund’s £108m asking price.
However, with two years remaining on his deal and with little competition for his signature, Solskjaer is pushing for the club to pay the necessary fee as he fears missing out on Sancho next summer.
