Star Wars icon Mark Hamill had a secret cameo in The Mandalorian – and you didn’t even notice.

Hamill, of course, famously played Luke Skywalker in the original and sequel trilogies of the game-changing space-opera franchise, alongside Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia and Harrison Ford as Han Solo.

Now, it’s emerged that the series’ original star actually had a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo in an episode of Disney Plus spin-off The Mandalorian.

Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian has been taking viewers behind-the-scenes of the production of the big-budget serial, and in its last instalment, director and creator Jon Favreau had an interesting tidbit for fans.

During the show’s fifth episode, the titular bounty hunter (Pedro Pascal) travels to Tatooine, Luke’s home planet in Star Wars. There, we meet a droid bartender, who Favreau revealed was actually voiced by an un-credited Hamill.

The director explained (via Deadline) that the droid in questions name is EV-9D9 and the character had previously appeared in Return of the Jedi.

Of course, this can’t be coincidence as The Mandalorian actually helped our favourite Jedi make a return.

Airing its first season last year, The Mandalorian will be returning for a sequel series, with bounty hunters and Baby Yoda’s aplenty, and the best news is that it won’t be delayed due to coronavirus.

Speaking to CNBC, Disney’s new CEO Bob Chapek confirmed it is still on track for its release in October.

It seems that another Star Wars legend will be returning for this new set of episodes too, in the form of Jango Fett actor Temuera Morrison.

Morrison will be playing an older version of Jango’s son, Boba Fett, who was a character in the original Star Wars trilogy.

The Mandalorian is available to stream now via Disney Plus.
