Someone shared this awkward Tinder exchange in r/MurderedByWords – and it looks like they picked the wrong forum.
What do you think?
Yes, it was a savage putdown, but if there’s an r/ImASelfImportantTool forum, surely it belongs there.
A few people, like u/kipwrecked were vaguely on the side of the so-called murderer.
I’ve already been mulling over how I’m going to explain this to somebody who messages me every other day and asks how I am.
But most people thought he – because he was identified elsewhere as a man in his forties – was, well, kind of an asshole.
What’s wrong with how was your day?

I think of myself as just severely out of practice with talking to people. Like I don’t know what else to do so I ask how someone is.

Some people just don’t have the skills to talk via text.

I am no stranger to online dating so I can appreciate being direct, but this hit them between the eyes approach was a bit much.
ScreamWithMe
That was a shockingly mean thing to say to a stranger.

u/gothiclg pointed out the diplomatic option.
I phrase it as “I’m sorry we’re just not compatible” when I’ve meant “you’re actually boring AF and I’m not going to keep putting in more effort than you’re worth to me.”
But u/Ch33105‘s comment is probably true.
I am sure they both are telling themselves “Dodged a bullet there.”
