A Republican lawmaker who was banned from Alaska Airline for refusing to wear a face mask on flights has tested positive for the coronavirus.
Alaska state Senator Lora Reinbold revealed in a Facebook post on Tuesday night that ‘it’s my turn to battle Covid head on’.
‘Game on!’ wrote Reinbold, adding strong arm and praying hands emojis. ‘Who do you think is going to win?’
The Republican representing a suburb of Anchorage continued: ‘When I defeat it, I will tell you my recipe. I am completely unimpressed with instructions, on my positive test, that says to go home & take Tylenol (which is contraindicated) until you cannot breathe -a bad recipe from cdc/dept of health.’
Reinbold said she was taking tons of vitamins A, B, C, D, Quercitin and zinc citrate, as well as vitamin E and aspirin to reduce clotting.
‘My naturopath gave me tips too- that I am sure will work!’ she wrote. ‘I will update you in a few days. I plan to keep my promise to stay OUT of the hospital- some of them seem like scary places these days.’
In the spring, Alaska Airlines banned Reinbold from its aircrafts indefinitely. She had gotten into an argument with an employee about the airline’s mask mandate, which was issued by the federal government.
Alaska Airlines was the only commercial carrier Reinbold was able to use to fly between her district in Juneau and the state capitol through the end of 2021, since Delta Air Lines stopped Juneau service last month.
Reinbold was excused from attending floor votes through the end of the year due to Alaska Airlines’ ban on her.
