Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are ‘thriving’ and in a ‘healthier place’ to return to public life after taking parental leave, their biographer has claimed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex both took time off after welcoming their second child Lilibet Diana in June.
But Omid Scobie – who co-wrote Finding Freedom – has said they are a couple who ‘needs to be on the ground’
He told People: ‘They say that the proof is in the pudding, and what we are about to see is that pudding.
‘They seem to be existing in a different place, and that place is much healthier.
‘Meghan famously spoke about that it was not enough to survive — we are now in the thrive chapter.’
The royal expert added that the couple would be prioritising their mental health after keeping ‘toxicity at arm’s length’.
It comes after the pair released a statement saying they were ‘speechless’ over the crisis in Afghanistan.
They also said they were ‘heartbroken’ by the deaths of nearly 2,000 people in an earthquake in Haiti.
The full statement on their Archewell website said: ‘The world is exceptionally fragile right now.
‘As we all feel the many layers of pain due to the situation in Afghanistan, we are left speechless.
‘As we all watch the growing humanitarian disaster in Haiti, and the threat of it worsening after last weekend’s earthquake, we are left heartbroken.
‘And as we all witness the continuing global health crisis, exacerbated by new variants and constant misinformation, we are left scared.’
The royals went on to urge people to donate to organisations ‘doing critical work’.
Prince Harry’s new memoir about his life in the Royal Family is set to be published in late 2022.
He announced he had been secretly working on the book for almost a year back in July.
He said: ‘I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become.
‘I’ve worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story – the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned – I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.’
