Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele) finally made the decision to seek help for her alcoholism in a recent Emmerdale episode.
The teenager returned to drinking as a way of coping with the barn crash and Paul’s death and has regularly caused drunken arguments with her friends and family.
Now, with Vinny (Bradley Johnson) and Aaron (Danny Miller) back by her side, Liv is on the road to recovery, but she’s finding things tough.
To make matters worse, she’ll face further trouble soon when she starts to suspect Noah (Jack Downham) may have raped her.
After difficult evening, Liv wakes with bruises on her arms and no memory of the events from the night before.
Chatting to Gabby (Rosie Bentham), Liv starts to recall spending time with Noah.
As Liv grows terrified that she’s dealing with the aftermath of rape, it isn’t long until Aaron and Charity (Emma Atkins) discover what’s going on.
With contrasting views, Aaron and Charity start to clash and as Isobel Steele recently told Metro.co.uk, their differences over what really happened to Liv run the risk of having a huge impact on the Dingle family.
‘Aaron just wants the best for Liv if something has happened. And Charity just wants the best for Noah and for his name not to be dragged. This could cause huge problems within the family if escalated.
This topic is close to both Aaron and Charity and their past, it’s hard not to let that get in the way.’
‘Liv is still massively feeling the pressure of staying sober’, Isobel continued.
‘Sobriety and recovery are not linear. I think she feels she has to get it right first time and that in itself is too much to deal with.’
