The pressure’s on for Todd (Picture: ITV)

Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) was left shaken in tonight’s episode of Coronation Street as a mysterious note landed on his doorstep threatening to expose his lies.

Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) is still none the wiser that Todd hired a teenager to help him split Billy and Paul (Peter Ash) up, but could that all be about to change?

As the pressure starts to increase for Todd, he will go to desperate lengths in order to cover his tracks and prevent Billy from discovering the truth.

Of course, this is Coronation Street, secrets can’t stay secret for long and soon enough, Todd’s manipulation and schemes will be revealed.

But what will the aftermath look like? Gareth Pierce spoke to Metro.co.uk and other press where he hinted at what could happen to Todd:

‘I think it might make him re-examine himself. I think there’s a sense that he’s not enjoying and isn’t in control of the game anymore. I think when you step back from what he’s done, he hasn’t gone into the territory of murder or anything as heavy as that, but it’s almost like a criminal wanting to be found out, it’ll be awful but there will be freedom after everything comes out.

I enjoy playing the undertaker stuff with Tony [Maudsley], I think the absence of a father for Todd explains a lot of why he is the way he is. With Summer, having children you’re not the biggest deal in your life and it can really level someone out, if he can get to a place where he’s co-parenting with Billy, that may level him out. I don’t think we will see Todd’s moral compass completely reset; he’s always going to be a player.’

‘I hope we’ve done the scripts justice in terms of what we’ve brought to the screen’, Gareth added, when discussing these huge scenes with Todd.

‘Keep watching, it’s lovely we already have people conflicted. Dan and I have been saying, we’ve been doing this all from two metres, there’s only so much eyebrow tension you can give!

I think its lovely to see the audience have gone on the journey, so the payoff is greater.’
