Britney Spears’ personal conservator has no plans to resign after revealing a request the singer asked of her just one day ago.

Following reports that her lawyer has decided to walk away, her conservator Jodi Montgomery released a statement confirming the star wants her to stay on.

The statement, given to People, said: ‘Ms. Spears as recently as yesterday has asked Ms. Montgomery to continue to serve.

‘Ms. Montgomery will continue to serve as a conservator for as long as Ms. Spears and the Court desire her to do so.’

The Break The Ice singer has been under a conservatorship since 2008 and recently gave an explosive testimony in court about her situation, even claiming that she had not been allowed to have her IUD removed so she can have children.

Her father Jamie, who acts as her conservator, has denied being responsible for the restrictions on his daughter’s life.

Britney’s lawyer Larry Rudolph resigned amid the conservatorship case, telling Deadline in a statement: ‘It has been over two and a half years since Britney and I last communicated, at which time she informed me she wanted to take an indefinite work hiatus. Earlier today, I became aware that Britney had been voicing her intention to officially retire.

‘As you know, I have never been a part of the conservatorship nor its operations, so I am not privy to many of these details. I was originally hired at Britney’s request to help manage and assist her with her career. And as her manager, I believe it is in Britney’s best interest for me to resign from her team as my professional services are no longer needed.

‘Please accept this letter as my formal resignation.’

The 57-year-old, who has also managed stars including Avril Lavigne and Miley Cyrus, added: ‘I will always be incredibly proud of what we accomplished over our 25 years together. I wish Britney all the health and happiness in the world, and I’ll be there for her if she ever needs me again, just as I always have been.’

The pop star has recently confessed she doesn’t know if she will ever perform again amid the ongoing legal battle.

Speaking to fans on Instagram Britney said: ‘The next question is; am I ready to take the stage again? Am I going to take the stage again? Will I ever take the stage again?

‘I have no idea. I’m having fun right now. I’m transitioning in my life and I’m enjoying myself.’

The star is currently on holiday in Maui with her boyfriend Sam Asghari and begged fans and paparazzi to give her some space.
