A missing woman who previously said she spent three weeks in a sewer system has been pulled out of another storm drain by authorities. Lyndsey Jane Kennedy, 43, vanished on May 26 and was nowhere to be seen for several days.

The Grand Prairie Police Department in Texas tweeted on Saturday that Kennedy had been ‘found safe and was taken to a local hospital’. Kennedy previously said that she wandered a sewer system in Delray Beach, Florida, for three weeks, WPEC reported.

Kennedy was rescued in Delray Beach in March. At the time, Kennedy said she ‘went for a swim in a canal near her boyfriend’s house’ and grew ‘curious’, according to WPEC. She then ‘wandered through tunnels before getting lost’.

Kennedy’s friends said they used a tracking app installed on her cell phone to find where she apparently slipped beneath the ground. They dropped ‘bags of food and Gatorade’ down ‘manholes and the storm drain’ for her to consume.

The missing woman’s mother, Jane, said Kennedy suffers from mental health issues including psychosis and PTSD from being in an abusive relationship. Kennedy had gone to Texas for rehabilitation.

Kennedy’s friend said that she hid in a storm drain system when Texas authorities approached her and disappeared.

Jane said her daughter climbed out of a six-foot drain pipe and was put on a psychiatric hold.
