Hollyoaks’ resident schemer Cher McQueen (Bethannie Hare) commits her most vile act yet in her mission to destroy Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe), as she kidnaps Diane Hutchinson’s (Alex Fletcher) newborn baby.
And after doing so, she pins the blame on her stepmum!
Cher is struggling with online trolling, and upcoming scenes see her confide in Romeo Nightingale (Owen Warner), as she explains that she wants to remove her birthmark with bleach due to the horrific comments she’s received.
Romeo, concerned for his girlfriend, tells Sylver (David Tag), who subsequently confronts Cher on the matter. Cher, however, refuses to back down, claiming that if her dad doesn’t help her, then she’ll go to extremes.
Sylver therefore decides to take Cher for a consultation to have her birthmark removed, but only on the condition that she delete her social media accounts.
Mercedes, meanwhile, goes for her first scan at the hospital, where she learns the devastating news that she’s not actually pregnant.
The Dog’s landlady opens up to both Cher and Goldie (Chelsee Healey) about her discovery.
Sylver later arrives to take Cher for her consultation, but Cher refrains from telling him about Mercedes’ heartbreak. Mercedes, meanwhile, hits the booze, and when Sylver returns home, he finally discovers what happened.
He’s seething with Cher for keeping shtum about the baby, and the heated showdown between the father and daughter duo leads to Cher taking drastic action.
Romeo later discovers that Cher attempted to remove her birthmark, and she’s in agony. She refuses to go to the hospital, but Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell) gives here stolen prescription pain killers. Cher uses the opportunity to open up to Peri, revealing that she’s always jealous when Mercy receives her dad’s attention.
The conversation ultimately makes her realise that she needs to make amends, and therefore she sets off to do just that, but when Mercedes refers to her as a self-serving cow, the young woman decides to take things even further.
Yes, she steals Diane’s newborn baby Eva from her pram!
In the wake of Eva’s vanishing, the residents of the eponymous village search high and low – desperate to locate the missing baby.
Cher, meanwhile, places Eva next to a sleeping Mercedes, and when Goldie gets wind of the missing child, she explains to Sylver that she fears Mercy might have had something to do with it.
Peri heads over to The Dog to find Cher in order to replace her bandages, but she gets quite the shock when she sets her sights on Mercedes with baby Eva!
Will Mercedes be able to explain what’s happened? What’s more, will anyone believe her when she professes her innocence?
