The Bay is reeling in the aftermath of Susie’s (Bridie Carter) trail of destruction, with one of the consequences being that Alf (Ray Meagher) doesn’t see how the Surf Competition can go ahead.

However, Dean (Patrick O’Connor) is determined to find a way to make it work so he doesn’t let Jai (River Jarvis) down.

When Willow (Sarah Roberts) lets him know that the Surf Club could go to court if they don’t run the competition, he begins to formulate a plan, leaving Amber (Madeleine Jevic) alone with Willow. It isn’t long before Amber focuses on her friend, asking what her plans for the future are.

She pushes to know what’s next for Willow, questioning whether she would consider getting back in touch with Alex (Zoe Ventoura). Willow begins thinking about what could have been, while Amber encourages her to take a chance – after all she did what she came back to the Bay for, as she, Dean and Jai are a family unit now.

The next day, Willow and Amber end up having a picnic with Jasmine after Lewis abandons their plans for a romantic trip together. When Willow leaves to get a drink, not wanting to keep being pushed about Alex, Jasmine makes it clear that Willow will move on when she’s ready.

However, Amber refuses to quit and checks out Alex’s social media account. She reports back that Alex is still single, and Willow can’t help but feel delighted.

After some further encouragement, she decides to take a risk and give Alex a call…
