Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) and Dean (Patrick O’Connor) have recently been crowned the king and queen of the surf competition, and while the pair are excited to land the grand prize, their achievement has left Tane (Ethan Browne) and Amber (Madeleine Jevic) feeling somewhat insecure about their relationships. When Tane acts oddly in the aftermath, Ziggy is confused until she speaks to Jasmine about it.
Jasmine (Sam Frost) hints that Tane may be jealous of how close she and her ex are, and when Ziggy speaks to her boyfriend he confesses that he’s not used to being jealous for the first time. Ziggy reminds him that she and Dean are just friends, then goes round to Dean’s place with a framed photo of the two of them.
It’s just Dean at home, so he suggests they have a beer and watch TV for a while. When Amber doesn’t come home, Dean worries about whether their relationship is OK, and they get into a detailed discussion about why she may have been acting weird lately.
This is the sight Amber is confronted with when she gets back with Jai (River Jarvis) – her boyfriend and his ex cosied up on the couch. While Jai is excited to see the framed photo, Amber isn’t impressed by another reminder of how close Ziggy and Dean are.
The next day, getting ready to take Jai to school, Amber sees a message on Dean’s phone from Ziggy, asking him to meet her at the Surf Club. She decides to follow them there, and after seeing them together she realises it’s time to make a major decision about her relationship…
