Amir Khan’s wife Faryal Makhdoom used to have someone delete all the abusive messages that would plague her social media so she didn’t have to read it.

The businesswoman and influencer, who has been married to boxer Amir for eight years, used to struggle with internet trolling, with cruel keyboard warriors shaming her during Ramadan last year.

Faryal is set to welcome fans into her family’s life with their brand new reality series, Meet The Khans, on BBC Three on Sunday and has revealed she’s now arrived at a point where she doesn’t care for the haters.

‘I remember the days when you used to sit back and read all the negative comments and it used to upset you, but now you rise above it,’ Amir told his wife during an interview with Metro.co.uk.

‘I used to hire someone to delete the horrible comments,’ Faryal disclosed. ‘And now I don’t even care. I leave them on because then they have a fight with each other.’

Addressing online trolling, Amir said: ‘You’re always going to get hate. The day you don’t get negative stuff sent to you is when nobody is talking about you.’

He added: ‘I don’t really mind it. It’s always motivated me in a way, especially with the boxing side, I’d use it as motivation to make me train harder.’

Two-time world boxing champion Amir and his wife Faryal’s eight-part reality series welcomes fans into their fabulous and fast-paced family life in their beloved Bolton home.

‘They may have a luxury lifestyle – but it’s not all plain sailing for the Khans as they hit a £5million overspend on a new business, deal with relationship issues and get their careers on track,’ teases the synopsis.

Meet the Khans: Big in Bolton is available to stream from Sunday 28th March on BBC Three.
