Even though Carla Connor (Alison King) betrayed Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) in Coronation Street, she hasn’t given up on him as he continues to turn to drink following the news that his liver is failing.
Carla has constantly tried to help Peter but due to the hurt he feels after Carla slept with Adam (Sam Robertson) he hasn’t listened to her.
With the Barlows and Carla doing all they can for Peter, could things really be over for Carla as she moves on, just as Peter gives in?
After Peter lashes out at Ken (William Roache), he breaks down and admits he wants to give up the booze but doesn’t know how. Later, Ken is horrified to discover Peter suffering a seizure and calls an ambulance.
In the hospital, the Barlows discuss the doctor’s advice to reduce Peter’s alcohol intake gradually to avoid sudden death.
Meanwhile, Carla attends a meeting with a new client, only to discover it’s Lucas, a blast from the past she met when living in Devon. Carla calls at No.1 to offer her support but when Peter makes it clear he doesn’t want her anywhere near; she heads to lunch with Lucas who reveals he’s booked a hotel for the weekend and he’d like her to join him.
Roy (David Neilson) urges Peter to make things up with Carla as it’s clear they still love each other but if he doesn’t act now, it could be too late.
As Ken administers Peter’s whisky and Carla readies to leave for the weekend, Peter asks her not to go.
Has Peter lost Carla for good?
