Chrissy Teigen was given a pleasant surprise to end an already emotional day when President Joe Biden followed her from the official POTUS Twitter account, three years after Donald Trump blocked her.
The TV presenter, who supported husband John Legend as he performed at the inauguration concert last night, had earlier made a public plea for President Biden to follow her on the social media account.
‘Hello @joebiden I have been blocked by the president for four years can I get a follow plz,’ Chrissy wrote.
Hours later, her wish was granted as she shared a screenshot of all the people President Biden now follows, which are mostly aides and other political figures. However, Chrissy is so far the only celebrity on Biden’s follow list so it’s safe to say she’s part of the cool club.
‘Oh my God!!!! My heart oh my god lmao I can finally see the president’s tweets and they probably won’t be unhinged,’ Chrissy reacted.
She then joked: ‘I should prob never tweet again.’
It’s a breakthrough moment for the 35-year-old who famously sparred with former President Trump during his presidency.
Mr Trump blocked Chrissy in 2017 following an almighty war of words where he described her as John’s ‘filthy mouthed wife’.
In another argument, Chrissy hit out: ‘lol what a p***y a*s bitch. tagged everyone but me. an honor, mister president.’
She later added: ‘I’m still blocked by trump. is he gonna honor this ruling? what if, of the 1000 despicable things, not unblocking people gets him impeached. for the record I am blocking him immediately after being unblocked.’
Chrissy, John and their children Luna, four, and Miles, two, had spent the day in Washington DC where Biden was sworn in as the 46th president.
John, 43, was among performers at the Inauguration Day Concert and sang a stunning rendition of Nina Simone’s Feeling Good in front of the Lincoln Memorial.
Overwhelmed by events of the day, Chrissy tweeted: ‘Ran our asses up the stairs for this shot. just incredible to be here. sober. I know that’s weird but it’s like…a different world for me. everything is new and better. very happy. the most happy bigly happy.’
