Five-day old sushi leaves woman with months of hallucinations

A woman lived to regret eating five-day-old sushi after it left her suffering from hallucinations, insomnia and incontinence. Doctors treating the 34-year-old woman discovered a giant tapeworm had been lurking in her stomach for nine months. She was given a single dose of praziquantel, an anti-worm medication, and went on to make a full recovery.

Nottingham pub rebrands as church

A pub in Nottingham is posing as a church to get around local Tier 3 restrictions. In a tongue-in-cheek move, the newly re-named Church of 400 Rabbits tequila bar has filed an application to certify a place of meeting for religious worship. Tier 3 measures rule that hospitality venues must remain closed except for delivery and takeout. Last month, Poland’s Atlantic Squash and Fitness Club rebranded itself as the Church of the Healthy Body in a similar gimmick.

Woman wins world afro record

A woman from Brooklyn, New York, has officially broken the record for the largest afro. Simone Williams’ magnificent mane is 20.5 cm (8.07 in) tall, 22.5 cm (8.85 in) wide and 1.48 m (4 ft 10 in) in circumference. She said she bid to break the record because she always gets comments about her the size of her “voluminous natural afro”.
