Carla Connor (Alison King) feels incredibly guilty in Coronation Street regarding recent events, as alcoholic Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) relapses in the wake of the huge anniversary week.

During the celebratory week, Peter is perturbed when Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) makes reference to Carla having calling at Daniel Osborne’s (Rob Mallard) flat, and therefore he confronts her on the matter.

The cab driver accuses Carla and Daniel of being lovers, and while the immediate events following such an accusation remain to be seen, he later heads out to purchase some whisky.

Peter returns — not having touched the whisky — but as Carla attempts to reason with him, he unscrews the bottle and defiantly takes a swig.

In the week that follows, Carla is riddled with guilt, and therefore she begs Peter to let her help him.

However, Simon (Alex Bain) makes it clear that she’s no longer welcome.

Carla is devastated, and thus picks up her holdall and storms out.

Later, Simon heads to the cafe, where he proceeds to tear a strip of Carla, before blaming her for Peter’s relapse.

Carla feels all the more guilty as a result.

Will she be able to reconcile with Peter? Will she be able to help him battle his addiction?
