Black Friday is an annual shopping event that sees some of the world’s biggest brands offer decent discounts of their best-selling and most popular products.
This year, we’ve already seen the prices slashed on everything from phones to TVs and washing machines in the Currys and Carphone Warehouse Black Friday sale, as well as amazing deals on make-up from brands like MAC.
Despite lockdown forcing many shops to close their doors this month, Black Friday is still happening this year.
Here’s when the sales start and where to shop for them:
When does Black Friday start and end in 2020?
Black Friday is on Friday November 27 2020.
Technically Black Friday itself only last for 24 hours, so will end at 00.01am on Saturday, November 28.
However, much like in previous years, stores, websites and brands have started offering their Black Friday deals way before the clock strikes twelve on the 27th.
Major brands launched their Black Friday sale earlier this month, which is even earlier than previous years.
Plus, the Black Fridays sales are known to extend over the weekend after Black Friday itself and even into the following Monday.
This day is known as ‘Cyber Monday’ and this year it falls on Monday November 30.
Is Black Friday all online this year?
As many high street shops will be closed for Black Friday this year, following Covid safety rules set out by the government, the Black Friday sales will mostly be online this year.
Even stores that are allowed to remain open under current lockdown rules – such as supermarkets – are predominately hosting their sale online this year for safety reasons.
There may be some Black Friday bargains to be had in store in big supermarkets, but it’s recommended that you shop online this year to get the best deals and to best follow the government’s advice that people ‘stay at home’ as much as possible in November to help limit the spread of Covid-19.
