If for you, it’s not really Christmas without a festive hot beverage, – whether that’s a hot chocolate or a ridiculously sugary coffee – you’re likely going to be excited about this new product from Starbucks.

The coffee giants have just launched their take on Christmas merch: a reusable cup that turns from holly green to a holly red when a hot drink is poured inside.

Red and green are very Christmassy colours, so it makes total sense, while getting a hot drink to clutch in the cold feels fitting for the season.

The heat sensitive chameleon cup is now available to purchase from £2.50.

You can pick one up by finding your nearest Starbucks Store Locator, heading along, and asking for a cup to-go, as while we’re in lockdown you’re not able to sit inside.

You can also find the cup at selected drive-thru locations, where again you’ll just need to ask for the cup at the window. If you explain you’re after the colour-changing Christmas cup, staff will know what you mean.

Once you’ve got your cup, you’ll be able to use it whenever you grab a coffee – and Starbucks will give you a 25p discount on your drink.

They’ll do this as long as you bring any reusable cup, just to be clear, but we mention this in case you needed a solid incentive to buy a reusable mug you just think is aesthetically pleasing.

This isn’t the first time Starbucks has dipped its toe in the colour-changing cup pond.

In 2019 they launched reusable cups that changed colour when you added a cold drink. They quickly sold out in multiple stores.
