I’m A Celebrity winner Vicky Pattison and Scarlett Moffatt believe this year’s stars should be forced to endure freezing cold showers just like they did.
The pair joined forces to talk about this year’s series, which has moved from Australia to Wales for 2020 due to coronavirus, and believe the current campmates ‘have it easier’ compare to their years.
Vicky, who won the show on 2015, explained on her podcast The Secret To… that she was jealous of those taking part this year – causing 2016 winner Scarlett to admit: ‘I don’t get jealous, I just feel like I miss it.
‘When I’m watching I really miss it, and I know that sounds absolutely absurd because it’s like “well, how can you miss being freezing cold, living in a hammock, being really hungry?”
‘But it’s just such a wonderful experience, and when you’re watching people experience that for the first time, it’s like “oh, I wish I was covered in mealworms and s***y cockroaches!”.
Vicky agreed and said that she found herself pacing around the house whenever the ITV series was on.
‘I’m going “it wasn’t like that when I was in there!” and getting so worked up! And then I have to turn it off for a bit, and then I feel like I’m getting FOMO and I’m like “no, no I need to watch this” so I turn it back on and go back to my pacing.’
Scarlett then said that she sometimes felt that this year’s stars ‘had it easier’, and said: ‘It’s so stupid, because even though we’re not in there anymore, I got so angry that they got hot water.
‘I actually got prescribed a shower from Medic Bob! Because he was like “No, Scarlett you haven’t been in the shower for eight days now, you really need to go in! Or you will get rashes!” But it was just so cold.
‘And now I’m like… I know they’re in Wales, so it is a bit colder, and it is a bit harsh giving them ice cold water but, they should have ice cold water! That’s part of the experience! Why have they got hot water?!’
I’m A Celebrity’s stars may have hot water this year – but that doesn’t come for free… with the group having to work in pairs to get the water working.
And they’ve also ensured their bushtucker trials are as grim as ever – with Sunday night’s task being declared one of the most disgusting smelling ever by Ant and Dec.
They’re also being forced to wash more to prevent any potential infection or coronavirus spread.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! airs daily at 9pm on ITV.
