Gilberto Silva is expecting Arsenal to bounce back from their defeat to Aston Villa before the international break with a 2-1 victory away at Leeds United this weekend.

Mikel Arteta’s side suffered an emphatic 3-0 loss to Villa as they were completely taken apart at the Emirates Stadium.

That result has left the Gunners in 11th place in the table after losing four of their opening eight Premier League games this season.

Arsenal have scored just nine goals this campaign, with captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finding the back of the net on only two occasions in the league.

They now face a tricky test against Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds at Elland Road on Saturday, and although ex-Gunners midfielder Silva feels it will be a tough game, he is backing his former side to come away with all three points

Silva told The Invisible Wall Show: ‘2-1 Arsenal. I believe Arsenal will bounce back from the last defeat.

‘I’m sure the last few days for them has been hard absorbing this defeat.

‘But somehow I think this international break was good for some of the players. I hope they come back fit to help Arsenal for a tough game against Leeds.

‘If you see Leeds there isn’t a big, big star in the team. But collectively they are very good. For Arsenal, it’s important when facing a team like this to work very well on their defensive side.

‘Defend properly, don’t leave space for the counter-attack, if you leave space for the counter-attack, they kill you immediately.

‘This kind of team is very hard to play against, very dangerous. They are tricky. Marcelo Bielsa knows exactly what to do, he knows how to trick the other team, how to invite them into their half and straight away explore the open space if Arsenal aren’t very well organised.’
