The reveal that Johnny Connor (Richard Hawley) in Coronation Street was involved in a crime that took place thirty years ago came as a shock to us all – especially Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews).
Suffice to say Scott (Tom Roberts) making Johnny’s life a living hell these past few months hasn’t helped, and coupled with the continuous guilt Johnny feels for ruining the life of a security guard, it’s not looking good for him.
Upcoming scenes will see the security guard’s mother come into Johnny’s life again, but will this eventually lead to an exit for Johnny as he faces years in prison for his crimes?
Margaret calls at the Rovers and explains to Jenny that she’s the mother of the security guard who was injured in the hit and run. Johnny confess that he was responsible for her son’s death.
Jenny begs Margaret not to go to the police, explaining that Johnny suffers from MS, but when Carla (Alison King) finds Jenny in tears, she reveals Margaret is now likely at the police station.
Johnny fails to make Jenny accept that he’s almost certainly going to prison, and after an argument, they’re interrupted by the arrival of the police who tell Johnny they’re arresting him on suspicion of burglary and GBH.
As Johnny’s past comes back to haunt him, could he be saying goodbye to Weatherfield soon and spends his life behind bars?
