Old wounds are reopened for Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) in Emmerdale, as she’s forced to devise a lie for her parishioners in regards to why she and Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) are no longer getting married.
There was once a time when Will wanting nothing more than to put a ring on Harriet’s finger and ultimately declare his love for her.
However, after discovering that she’d been having an affair with DI Malone (Mark Womack) prior to the detective’s death, he was broken, and revealed that he wanted nothing more to do with her.
The pair have agreed to continue living together in order to ensure a stable, family environment for Lucas should the social worker drop by unannounced, but any shred of romance is well and truly gone.
With the wedding bells having been halted, Harriet is forced to lie to Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) who enquires about the vicar and Will’s impending nuptials.
She claims the wedding has been called off due to money issues, and later reveals her lie to Will, but he remains cold and somewhat indifferent about the whole thing.
Harriet is heartbroken over the idea of being cut out of her own family, but she soon has bigger problems, as Laurel and Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) reveal they’ve asked around, and people are happy to put money towards a wedding!
How will she get out of this one?
