The ever popular Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) finally has pushed his luck too far and after winding up as many people as he could manage in EastEnders, he is now left for dead on the floor of the Queen Vic – and his situation is about to get worse as he fights to hang onto his life.
Whoever attacked him struck hard enough to prove they wanted to do him some serious harm but who hates him enough to resort to murder?
With Ian lying motionless on the floor in The Vic, a figure creeps past him, making sure no one sees them leaving The Vic.
Meanwhile Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) returns from picking up Albie from Karen’s and she is stunned to find Ian lying on the floor and immediately calls Kathy (Gillian Taylforth). Unable to find a pulse, they panic as they wait for the ambulance to rush Ian to hospital.
It’s not long before the police are on the scene and suspicions are running high as to who attacked Ian. With so many having an axe to grind, the question is who would want Ian dead?
With Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) leading the way on the case, the police continue to investigate Ian’s attack but with so many grudges against him and many acting suspicious, the investigation continues.
However, it’s not long before the police get a break through and they make an arrest…
That said, as is often the way in soap, the first suspect is rarely the right person – and new information comes to light by the end of the week which sends Jack in a different direction.
And meanwhile, Callum Highway’s (Tony Clay) own investigations could lead him to a culprit closer to home.
