The Wanted star Tom Parker has been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour- just weeks before he’s due to become a dad for the second time.

The 32-year-old musician has stage four glioblastoma – an aggressive tumour that can spread quickly if not treated.

In a statement posted on social media alongside wife Kelsey Hardwick, Tom opened up about his diagnosis.

He wrote: ‘Hey guys, you know that we’ve both been quiet on social media for a few weeks and it’s time to tell you why.

‘There’s no easy way to say this but I’ve sadly been diagnosed with a Brain Tumour and I’m already undergoing treatment.

‘We decided, after a lot of thought, that rather than hiding away and trying to keep it a secret, we would do one interview where we could lay out all the details and let everyone know the facts in our own way.

‘We are all absolutely devastated but we are gonna fight this all the way. We don’t want your sadness, we just want love and positivity and together we will raise awareness of this terrible disease and look for all available treatment options.

‘It’s gonna be a tough battle but with everyone’s love and support we are going to beat this. Tom and Kelsey xxx’

Tom first went to the doctors back in July, after collapsing and having a seizure, but at the time was placed on a waiting list for an MRI scan.

However, a further seizure six weeks later had him rushed to the hospital, where his brain tumour was then detected.

Tom and Kelsey opened up about the diagnosis in OK! Magazine, which was released today, in a joint interview.

‘I’m still in complete shock, it’s so much to take in,’ he said.

‘I knew something wasn’t right, but I never expected it to be this. You never think this will happen to you.’

Kelsey added: ‘It has been a crazy six weeks. We had an inkling that something was wrong in July, but we never could have imagined it was this.’

The devastating news comes just weeks after Kelsey and Tom, announced they were expecting their second child together.

Their daughter, Aurelia Rose, was born on June 30, 2019.

Their baby boy is due this November.

Tom first shot to fame thanks to joining The Wanted alongside Jay McGuinness, Max George, Siva Kaneswaren and Nathan Sykes in 2009.

Their hits include Chasing The Sun, All Time Low and Glad You Came, with 10 top 10 singles and two number ones in the Official Charts.

They released three albums before going on ‘a hiatus’ in 2014 to pursue solo projects, and never reunited.

Tom and actress Kelsey have been together for more than a decade, getting engaged in 2016 before getting married at a ceremony in Surrey in 2018.
