Strictly Come Dancing’s HRVY has revealed he’s excited to see how things ‘blossom’ with his fellow contestant Maisie Smith.
The duo are currently both favourite to win, with HRVY slightly ahead of the EastEnder’s star after bookies slashed his odds from 5/1 to just 7/4.
But could there be a romance brewing as they battle it out for the Glitter Ball trophy?
Writing in his new OK column, the singer addressed rumours of the Strictly curse slowly taking a hold of him.
‘How unreal did Maisie [Smith] look in her pink dress last week?!’ he said. ‘To be honest, she looks incredible every week.
‘I know there’s been a lot of speculation about whether there’s any romance between us. ‘
He pressed: ‘It’s funny because I’ve actually seen her the least out of everyone because she’s not been in any of my rehearsal spaces.
‘But yeah, Maisie really is so lovely and beautiful. She’s a really good friend of mine and I think she’s an amazing dancer.
‘Not a lot can really happen between us because we have to be two meters apart, but I am a little excited to see how things blossom.’
It comes after rumours started to circulate that Strictly bosses had put the pair (and other contestants) on a strict kissing ban as they urged them to stick to the strict coronavirus guidelines in place to stall the spread of Covid-19.
‘Maisie and HRVY are being monitored by the producers after it’s become clear their connection could easily lead into a Strictly romance,’ a source began.
‘They’re both young, single and hot and the thought is that the two of them could bring the other cast into risk if they break the guidelines and get closer.’
‘They have both been told, as have the rest of the cast, that kissing is off-limits. Usually, the Strictly cast are very tactile. Not in 2020,’ they added to The Sun.
The insider also revealed that the contestants have named the bosses the ‘passion patrol’.
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One.
