Ranvir Singh has revealed she’s lost half a stone already while rehearsing for her Strictly Come Dancing debut.
The presenter, 43, joined Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday morning and talk turned to her upcoming appearance on BBC’s Strictly.
She is among the celebs that will be dancing on the show this year and has admitted that she’s feeling pretty ‘scared’ ahead of her first performance.
Susanna told her co-star that she ‘looks like she’s been in the training room’, after Ranvir was caught practicing her moves on set, and she revealed that she’s already lost half-a-stone, thanks to rehearsals for the show.
Ranvir said: ‘I weighed myself this morning, I’ve lost half a stone.’
Addressing her nerves, she told her co-stars: ‘I’m not even joking… I’m so scared, I can’t eat.’
Piers joked that Ranvir has that ‘unfortunate extreme energy’ that comes with taking part in Strictly and teased: ‘You all basically go a bit nuts.’
Ranvir laughed as she blamed her energetic appearance on ‘all the adrenaline’, as Piers revealed he’s never watched Strictly – not even when his co-anchor Susanna was competing on the show in 2013.
‘You didn’t even vote,’ Susanna said to Piers. ‘You just put a tweet out telling people to vote [for me].’
Ranvir then asked Piers if he would vote for her this time round and he told her: ‘If you beg me.’
Offering her some advice, he then said: ‘You’ve got to be ruthless, like Susanna was. She’s the most competitive person who pretends it’s not all about the winning.’
Ranvir joins the likes of Jamie Laing, Rebekah Vardy, Maisie Smith, Jason Bell and Max George in the Strictly lineup this year, as the show returns for a limited run amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
