Good Morning Britain’s Dr Hilary Jones has warned Donald Trump is at ‘considerable risk’ after testing positive for coronavirus.
The President confirmed he and First Lady Melania Trump have contracted Covid-19 and will begin the quarantine and recovery process ‘immediately’.
Discussing Trump’s diagnosis on today’s GMB, Dr Hilary pointed out two agents which put him at a greater danger of serious complications.
‘He’s 74, he’s in the vulnerable group, he’s overweight, he has two factors there which puts him at considerable risk,’ Dr Hilary said.
‘I think medics looking on will say it’s almost inevitable the way we saw him not socially distancing, refusing to wear masks at big conventions. How many people at those conventions died of coronavirus?’

Elsewhere, Dr Hilary revealed that those aged 74 are 90 times more likely to die from the virus than 18-29 year olds.
The US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention says people aged 65 to 74 have a five times higher risk of hospital admission.
For people aged 75 to 84, the risk of needing hospital admission jumps to eight times higher, with a 220 times higher risk of death.
Trump announced his positive coronavirus status on Twitter, with the First Lady also tweeting to say the couple is feeling well.
She wrote: ‘As too many Americans have done this year, @potus & I are quarantining at home after testing positive for COVID-19. We are feeling good & I have postponed all upcoming engagements.
‘Please be sure you are staying safe & we will all get through this together.’
Trump earlier said he and the first lady, 50, were self-isolating after one of his top aides Hope Hicks tested positive.
Ms Hicks, 31, who serves as a counsellor to the President, reportedly tested positive for the disease on Thursday, the day after she travelled with Trump to a rally in Ohio.
At the time of writing, coronavirus has infected over 7million Americans and killed over 208,000.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
