The Strictly Come Dancing male pros are keen to be partnered with EastEnders star Maisie Smith on the upcoming new series.
The 19-year-old Tiffany Butcher actress is one of the 12 celebrities lined up to compete on this year’s show and she’s reportedly caught the attention of Aljaz Skorjanec, Anton Du Beke, Giovanni Pernice, Gorka Marquez, Graziano Di Prima, Johannes Radebe and Neil Jones.
‘All the male pros really want to partner with her, not just because she’s young and fit, but she’s also proven herself to be a brilliant dancer,’ a source said.
They continued to The Sun: ‘She has a massive fan following, which often ensures contestants get far in the competition.’
Maisie’s place in the competition was confirmed earlier this month with Lorraine Kelly accidentally leaking the news on her show before the official announcement.
Addressing her place on the show, Maisie enthused: ‘Get me in those sequins, I can’t wait to dive into the Strictly fancy dress box this winter! This is a dream come true.’
Maisie has already shown off her dancing skills as she won the Children In Need’s Strictly special with Kevin Clifton last year.
Judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli and Motsi Mabuse all conferred on the decision – and awarded Maisie with the very special Pudsey edition of the famous Glitterball trophy.
Speaking after her win, Maisie said: ‘I honestly had the most amazing week and I couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful team by my side.
‘It’s been amazing.’
