Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) begins to fear that his marriage to Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) is over in Emmerdale, as she begins to spend quite a bit of time with Al Chapman (Michael Wildman).
There has been conflict aplenty between Chas and Paddy since lockdown lifted, something which various others — including Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) — have noticed.
In episodes which will air this week, the once-happy couple have a colossal argument, and Chas storms out.
While contemplating how to move forward, she finds herself amused by Al’s attempts to hide from Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel), and the two hit it off, as they flirt with one another.
However, while said flirtation might seem harmless at the time, the two later decide to spend the afternoon together, and therefore head off on a picnic.
Meanwhile, Bear — having seen Chas head off with Al — informs Paddy of what he saw, and the vet grows concerned for his marriage.
As Al and Chas enjoy their afternoon together, there’s another moment of attraction between them — something which Chas fights, as she looks away.
She’s evidently playing a dangerous fame, and Paddy — who managed to track them down — listens to their conversation, and he worries that said conversation is proof that his marriage to Chas has, in fact, come to an end.
Bear implores Paddy to tell Chas that he knows about her seeing Al, and thus confront it head-on.
Will he listen to his dad’s advice?
