Stephen Mulhern is uncertain about his future with Britain’s Got Talent after his sister show Britain’s Got More Talent was axed after 12 years.

The show will now be accompanied by Britain’s Got Talent: Unseen, giving viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the action from the live shows.

ITV recently announced that Britain’s Got Talent will continue with the live semi-finals later this year after the pandemic put everything on hold.

Asked whether he will have anything to do with the new series, the TV presenter confessed that he is in the dark.

‘I can tell you honestly I don’t know anything. I don’t know if they’ve announced if they are doing it,’ he explained.

‘Last thing I heard was that there was talk of them still doing it in a theatre but not, and then they were doing it with a little audience and then they weren’t.

‘I know nothing about it. I don’t know, I’m hoping it still does well. It’ll be interesting to see it, because that is the sort of show where you do need reactions. You wanna see the audience [looking shocked] because it helps your reactions at home.’

Stephen’s next project is the game show Rolling In It where people team up with celebrities to roll a coin in a bid to win money.

Speaking about the tense moments on set as contestants waited to hear their fate, the former CITV host shared: ‘I’ve never hosted a show where I’ve felt so tense. Whether it’s behind the scenes on shows watching big moments where you just go…the last time I felt as tense as I did on Rolling In It, and they’re rolling for a year’s wage- that’s a lot of dough.

‘The only time I’ve felt as sick, if you like, is when Holly Steele was on Britain’s Got Talent, the little girl who started crying and started saying she wanted to sing again. It was like being in slow motion and they had to move the news.

‘It was terrible. But honestly there’s moment where I go, I do feel sick because they could blow it and it’s all by pure luck.’

The likes of Gemma Collins, Jimmy Carr and Joe Swash will appear.

Rolling In It starts August 8 at 6.25pm on ITV.
