FBG Duck, a Chicago rapper, has been killed in a daylight drive-by shooting at the age of 26.
The Chicago Police Deputy Chief Daniel O’Shea confirmed the musicians death in a press conference on Tuesday.
FBG Duck was shopping with friends when the incident took place on Tuesday afternoon, when four people jumped out of two cars – a black Ford Taurus and a silver Chrysler 300M.
The gunmen opened fire, shooting three people in the process.
FBG Duck was pronounced dead just after 5pm after arriving at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Two others – a 26-year-old woman and 36-year-old man – are in serious condition in hospital.
In videos later posted on Twitter of the incident, Duck was seen on the floor as a woman next to him screamed, while two others were seen lying in between two parked cars.
The rapper’s brother FBG Brick was shot and killed in 2017, and Duck had previously been shot in the shoulder back in 2018.
Several areas are now being considered active crime scenes and detectives are now investigating.
Born Carlton D. Weekly, Duck was part of the Fly Boy Gang rap crew, and has released four albums over the course of the past five years.
His 2018 single Slide was remixed by 21 Savage, and he had signed a record deal with Sony that same year.
