Clowns are the ultimate ‘Marmite’ entertainers – loved and feared in near equal measure. But if we learn one thing today it’s this: they can hold their own in a fight with an umbrella.
Video filmed outside a McDonald’s at Wood Green Shopping Centre in Hornsey, London, shows a man attempting to take on a clown, umbrella in hand.
It is unclear whether the clown bore any relation to Ronald McDonald though a spokesman for the fast food chain confirmed the fight had ‘nothing to do’ with it.
It’s believed the face off took place on Monday, though it is not known what caused the dispute.
The clown – in bright yellow trousers and a red jacket with a green collar – appears to be arguing with a man in a blue coat before he whacks the clown’s wig off with his brollie.
The person recording can be heard saying: ‘Why is he having a one on one with the clown, what’s going on?’
At one-point, the man in the blue coat attempts a body kick at the clown, and is heard shouting: ‘Go and get a job.’
The fight cooled off when a McDonald’s manager emerged from inside the restaurant to calm things down.
The Met Police said: ‘We are aware of a video online. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the details of the incident.’
A spokeswoman for McDonald’s added: ‘This has nothing to do with us, this was an altercation between two people on the street.’
