Avengers star Clark Gregg has officially filed for divorce from Dirty Dancing actress Jennifer Grey after 19 years of marriage.
In legal documents obtained by The Blast, Clark, best known for his role as Agent Phil Coulson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Agents of SHIELD, made the application at LA County Courts on 13 August.
The pair announced their split in July in a joint statement that read: ‘After 19 years together, we separated in January, knowing we’d always be a family who loves, values and cares for each other.
‘We recently made the difficult decision to divorce, but we remain close and are deeply grateful for the life we’ve shared and the wonderful daughter we’ve raised.
‘P.S. Totally crying as we post this.’
The couple share an 18-year-old daughter, named Stella.
Despite quietly breaking-up at the beginning of this year, the pair continued to publicly praise each other and their time together on social media.
In June, to celebrate Fathers’ Day, Jennifer posted a loving message to Gregg that read: ‘I love you and am beyond grateful you showed up just in the nick o’ time to make my dream come true.
‘For continuing to show up as a devoted, loving dad and partner to raise this amazing human with. couldn’t have done it without you.’
The acting couple, while maintaining a level of privacy over their home life, shared the screen on more than one occasion.
In 2006, they starred in Lifetime Christmas movie, The Road to Christmas, together, where Jennifer’s big city character Claire finds herself stranded in rural America and learns about family values when Clark’s character Tom befriends her.
In The Conners season two, which aired this year, they played a swinging couple who were looking for a new partner in the bedroom.
Avengers: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D airs on E4 in the UK.
