Tonight’s Casualty has a strong mental health focus, as nurse David Hide (Jason Durr) is shown struggling to cope with his bipolar symptoms.
This is partly due to the arrival in the ED of a patient who is in severe distress due to his own mental health issues.
As David attempts to use his own experience and coping techniques to help his patient, it brings up some memories and feelings that he’s tried to suppress.
Will he be able to hold things together himself while he’s helping his patient? And will he be able to confide in his wife, Rosa (Jacey Salles)?
Last week we saw Lev (Uriel Emil) meeting up with a man he’d met on a dating app. After an encounter in the back of a car the man turned up at the ambulance station where he and Lev shared a passionate kiss – which was seen by Dylan (William Beck).
When the same man appears in the ED asking for Lev, Dylan remembers where he’s seen him before – and this puts him in a moral dilemma. Should he say something to Faith (Kirsty Mitchell), or to Lev?
Given that we know that Lev is capable of being violent if he feels threatened, maybe Dylan would be wiser to keep quiet – but there’s also his feelings towards Faith to consider. What will Dylan do?
Ethan (George Rainsford) is offered the chance of more HEMS training, but his terrible memories of the terrorist explosion in the market place make him decide he’d rather settle for a less exciting professional life. Fenisha (Olivia D’Lima) pushes him to reflect on the sort of doctor he really wants to be.
As Jacob (Charles Venn) anxiously waits to find out whether he was successful in his interview for Charlie’s job, another member of the Casualty team gets some happy family news.
