Lily Allen admits that speaking out on issues like anti-semitism following the Wiley controversy feels ‘isolating’, and has called out her so-called friends for not checking to see if she is OK.

The Smile singer publicly condemned Wiley, 41, for embarking on an offensive Twitter rant in which he compared the Jewish community to the Ku Klux Klan

Slamming the rapper, Lily, 35, wrote in an Instagram video: ‘So I just had a look at Wiley’s tweets. Oh dear.

‘Oh I’m really worried about everyone just going for each other on the Internet. And it all being egged on by big data and big tech.

‘It’s just really sad watching communities who should be like, coming together and helping each other out, turn against each other. I just feel like it’s going to get worse. I hope it doesn’t.’

After suggestions that Lily was ‘sympathising’ with Wiley, the pop star denied this and added in reference to social media: ‘I hate it here.

‘You think I’d be used to people completely twisting what I say to make it mean the exact opposite by now. But I’m not. It gets me every time. Also, all my “friends” I see you watching these stories but you never message me to ask if I’m alright.’

She added: ‘I’m not btw, it’s extremely isolating bringing attention to this stuff and being ignored. But as you were.’

Wiley’s tweets sparked outrage over the weekend and prompted Twitter and Instagram to ban his account from posting for a week.

The Metropolitan Police also confirmed they were investigating and Wiley later claimed in Instagram videos that the police visited him at home.

Home Secretary Priti Patel condemned the grime star’s ‘abhorrent’ comments and also criticised the social media platforms for not taking action fast enough.

During his Twitter rant, Wiley also shared anti-semitic beliefs and conspiracy theories, tweeting: ‘Israel is not yours’.

‘I would challenge the whole world of jewish community on my own I am not scared I can handle them,’ the grime star penned.

‘Jewish would do anything to ruin a black mans life but it won’t work with me I am a savage [sic].’
