Jennifer Aniston is delighted by the news of her first Emmy Award nomination in 11 years for The Morning Show and celebrated the news with her fans.
The Friends actress is nominated for best lead actress in a drama series for her portrayal of Alex Levy, with the full list of nominees announced on Tuesday.
Her last nod was for her appearance in 30 Rock back in 2009.
Sharing pictures from behind-the-scenes of the show, an excited Jennifer wrote: ‘What a morning waking up to this news! I am so proud of my @themorningshow family.
‘This team worked so, so hard to make the best show we possibly could, and I am truly honored to be a part of it. Thanks for this acknowledgment and congratulations to EVERYONE 👏🏼 🥳.’
Jennifer added: ‘Now, I’m just gonna have to figure out what MASK I’M GONNA WEAR.’
Jennifer is up against Olivia Colman (The Crown), Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), Laura Linney (Ozark), Sandra Oh (Killing Eve) and Zendaya (Euphoria) for the gong.
Her The Morning Show co-star Reese Witherspoon was snubbed from the list of nominees for this year’s Emmys and schooled fans on how to handle being overlooked.
The 44-year-old star, who also features in Big Little Lies and Little Fires Everywhere, told her followers on Instagram that she was ‘honoured’ to see each series being recognised.
Taking to her Instagram story shortly after the nominations were revealed, Reese told fans she was ‘bursting with joy’ for her co-stars and crews involved.
The Morning Show landed five nominations for the 2020 Emmys, including lead actor for Steve Carell.
