A further 123 people died after testing positive for coronavirus, bringing the UK death toll to 45,677.

Meanwhile, a top health official in Spain has warned the nation could have already been hit by a second wave of the virus.

Spain saw a worrying 2,615 new cases of Covid-19 on Thursday – close to double the 1,357 new infections reported the day before.
