Airport offers fake flights for people missing air travel

A Taiwan airport is running fake two-hour flights, including the full check-in experience, for anyone who has missed flying during the coronavirus pandemic. Those who signed up are given itineraries, boarding passes, and go through security and immigration checks before boarding an Airbus A330, with cabin crew to greet them.

Cat survives washing machine cycle

A cat emerged alive from a 12-minute cycle in a washing machine after his owner didn't realise he'd fallen asleep inside. The owner of the two-year-old Burmese cat named Oscar realised what had happened when she heard a peculiar meowing sound, after her husband had loaded their bed sheets into the washer. “The poor little cat had his hands on the glass as he was doing the rotations and he was looking at me,” she said. Vets were able to save Oscar.

Monkeys take over city in Thailand

Residents of a city in Thailand have been forced to hide from monkeys who are taking over their neighbourhoods. Locals say that rival monkey gangs are rampaging through Lopburi creating no-go zones for humans. “We live in a cage but the monkeys live outside,” said a resident. One simian gang has established its headquarters in an abandoned cinema.
