Personal trainer turned YouTube sensation Joe Wicks has captured the nation’s heart during lockdown with his daily PE sessions for kids and free workouts for seniors.
The father of two has turned down offers from the likes of Channel 4 and the BBC to broadcast his content, choosing instead to keep it on YouTube where he can ensure everyone can watch it for free and ad revenue from the videos can be donated to his place of choosing – the NHS.
‘It’s a phenomenal amount of money and it just felt right, seeing as it was the community that built it. I didn’t want people to think for a second that I had the intention of financially benefiting from any of this,’ Joe, 33, said recently in an interview with Men’s Health magazine.
The fitness guru has plenty more free workouts and training ideas for people to access online via his Youtube channel – include his fitness challenge ‘7 Days of Sweat.’
What is Joe Wicks’ 7 Days of Sweat?
Joe Wicks’ 7 Days of Sweat is a home workout challenge designed by The Body Coach (aka Joe) himself.
The idea is that for seven consecutive days you complete a 20-minute workout every day as guided by Joe in his videos.
There are seven different workouts, all free to view on The Body Coach YouTube channel and none of them require equipment to complete.
‘No equipment, no excuses,’ Joe says of his 7 Days of Sweat challenge on YouTube.
‘You can just tune in, do the workout with me, at home in your living room or wherever suits you.
‘You’re going to feel more energised, more alert, more productive and more focussed.
‘You’re going to burn some body fat and feel really confident moving forward. It’s going to give you a little bit of a kick to keep you going and hopefully give you the momentum to keep fit all year.’
You can start the challenge at any time – just head along to The Body Coach YouTube channel to get started!
