Jack Whitehall has told how he was ‘terrified’ he had given his 80-year-old father coronavirus during the first few weeks of lockdown.
The comedian, who often appears alongside his dad Michael on TV, developed symptoms of Covid-19 shortly after lockdown began in March.
The 32-year-old who had also visited his parents for dinner said he had followed government guidelines and self-isolated, but said he felt overwhelmed knowing he could have infected his father.
‘We went over for dinner as the lockdown was just about to start,’ he began. ‘I have had Covid. I had it the first week of the lockdown. I had every symptom, the whole situation.
‘At that point, I was absolutely zero contact. But I was really terrified that I’d seen Michael the week before and had no idea that I had it.’

‘It was a very scary couple of weeks, not wanting to hear him cough on the other end of the phone,’ he added to The Radio Times.
Jack is currently self-isolating with his girlfriend Roxy Horner.
The Bad Education star made headlines after going public with Roxy – with the pair spotted kissing on the street during a romantic stroll.
According to insiders, the pair decided to make things official just before lockdown was put in place back in March.
‘Jack and Roxy are enjoying being in isolation together,’ they told the Sun.
‘It’s all very new but they’re in their own little bubble and things are perfect at the moment.’
Well, not quite perfect as Roxy took a pair of scissors to his hair, leaving him with a ‘disastrous’ bald patch.
