Police are searching for a ‘brazen’ man who ‘casually walked past’ two teenage girls wearing only a mask, shoes and sunglasses.
The two victims were enjoying a picnic at Rabbit Braes, Kirkcaldy, Fife, when they saw someone sitting nearby at around 4.30pm on Wednesday.
At first they could only see a bald head and assumed the man must have been resting after climbing the hill, but moments later he came right up to them and exposed himself.
One of the girl’s mums told Fife Today: ‘He walked right past them, brazen as anything. He stared at them all the time, never uttered a word. He just casually walked past, no hurry, he just kind of swaggered past.’
A video taken by one of the victims shows the man wearing boots, a black mask and sunglasses. After realising he had been caught on camera, the man turned back towards them, at which point the woman’s daughter told her phone ‘Siri, phone mum’.
As soon as the creep started running towards the woman says the girls phoned the police. She added: ‘It was in broad daylight. There would have been lots of people walking about in the woods. Someone must have seen him. I’m just so angry about it.’
The suspect is said to be of a medium build and about 5’10. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: ‘Around 4.50pm on Wednesday, 24 June, we received reports that a man had exposed himself to two women in the Rabbit Braes area of Kirkcaldy.
‘Enquiries are ongoing and anyone who may have information can call 101, quoting incident 2669 of 24 June.’
